Etobicoke Lakeshore Santa Claus History

Serving the Etobicoke Lakeshore Community since 1990!

The Etobicoke Lakeshore Santa Claus Parade started as an idea in 1990 as a collaboration effort between the Lakeshore Village (New Toronto) BIA and Long Branch BIA to renew efforts in a Christmas Parade after a 25 year hiatus.

As a result of the dynamic changes in the area, there was interest in drawing crowds to the businesses in the area and showcase that the Etobicoke Lakeshore  area was a vibrant and attractive community to play, work and live.

A steering committee  was formed and seed money was provided by both BIA’s.  The first parade (after the 25 year hiatus), took place on December 5th 1991.

In 2009 the Skate with Santa event was launched under the current Chair.
